Anazelia is a conservation researcher and practitioner, holding a Bachelor of Science and an MSc degree in Animal Biology, both from the University of Espirito Santo (Brazil). For the past 10 years, she has worked on forest restoration with government institutions and the private sector in Brazil and Australia, respectively. Her experiences span from local projects in partnership with cooperatives to national initiatives coordinated by non-governmental organizations, focusing on conservation, public policies, and forest landscape restoration governance. Anazelia is now a PhD Candidate with the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, at The University of Queensland, investigating the potential of applying incentive mechanisms for scaling up restoration through promoting natural forest regrowth persistence.
