The document reports the discussions held at the workshop “The role of natural regeneration in large-scale landscapes restoration – building the foundations for a global partnership to promote natural regeneration.” The meeting, held in Rio de Janeiro in November 2014, gathered members of academia, government, business and non-governmental organizations in the discussion on the role of natural regeneration in forest restoration and resulted on the document “Rio Call”, aimed to stimulate public policies to natural regeneration in landscape restoration.
